Is PUBLICMCP free?
The standard and reference implementation are completely free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license. Managed hosting by Salt Creative is a paid service.
Do I need a developer to set this up?
If you're self-hosting, basic server experience is required. Our managed service requires nothing from you — we handle everything.
Will this work with Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants?
Yes. PUBLICMCP is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which is supported by Claude, and is being adopted across the AI ecosystem.
How do AI agents discover my server?
Compliant servers publish a discovery file at a standard URL path. AI agents that index PUBLICMCP-compliant businesses will find yours automatically. You are also listed in the public registry at publicmcp.org.
Is my business data secure?
Your PUBLICMCP server only exposes information you explicitly configure — the same information you'd put on your website. No private data, no internal systems, no authentication required from callers.
